The Best Possible State
2022 — Solo Exhibition
Vali Gallery, Tehran

This project begins with a question I have carried with me for years: What is the best possible state of something within space?

The question first emerged while arranging fragments of wood—seemingly insignificant pieces whose placement appeared to require a kind of precise decision-making. I kept asking myself what their best possible position could be. Even now, I am not certain such a state truly exists.

Gradually, the question extended beyond objects themselves: what makes a condition “ideal”? What factors are involved in shaping it? And ultimately, what might be the best possible state of a human being?

The works in this exhibition do not attempt to answer these questions; rather, they move around them. Through drawing, photography, mixed media, and a sculptural element, each work proposes a temporary condition—one that can always shift, be rearranged, or abandoned.

The overall atmosphere of the exhibition is dark, restrained, and somewhat suspended, as if each work exists on the verge of either formation or collapse. What remains is not a definitive answer, but the continuation of the same question.
